Official Launch at the Hotel Kilkenny

The Kilkenny to Cape Town venture was officially launched at the Hotel Kilkenny last Wednesday 8th November. With Monica O'Gorman and Nancy Aburi from Self Help organising, the Mayor of Kilkenny, Councillor Martin Brett lent his support and gave a stirring speech. Also in attendance were Kilkenny hurling star Henry Shefflin, Irish rugby legend Mick Galwey, representatives of the Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce and a number of supporters and followers of Hugh's project.

On the same night, a bridge evening was held by Moira Bergin (Hugh's mother) in DunLaoghaire which raised well over €700 for Self Help.
